If you are lucky enough to have a good relationship with most of your family members then you should feel like you won the lottery. Families provide social and emotional support you can’t get from others. We depend on them for financial assistance and advice on everything from cooking to raising kids. There is nothing better than sharing fond memories of the past and making plans for the future with your family.
Toxic relationships can hurt emotionally. For example, I believe the reason one of my dearest friend’s has a constant emptiness inside is because she doesn’t have a good relationship with her sister. I could never jesteś gejem imagine not being close to my sister, she’s my best friend for life. Family doesn’t necessarily have to be blood related. I consider my good friends as part of my family because they are always there for me in good and bad times.
Recent surveys show that changes in levels of happiness are tied to family relationships rather than changes of income. This seems to contradict what most people tend to do – put work ahead of family quality time. I have seen it too many times on those family reality TV shows where one of the parents works too much and as a result the children are unruly. In just 22 minutes (not including commercials), all the issues are resolved.
There are some ways to keep family bonds strong. Show some gratitude, especially around the holidays when everyone comes together. Often these times can be frustrating but it’s important to show unconditional love. If a family member has disappointed you in the past by not doing the right thing, just let it go. This Justin Timberlake will not only benefit you, it will also create a more peaceful setting for everyone else. Be kind to others; it will make you feel good and rub off on others.
